What type of Pallet Racking will be best for my business?
Posted in Pallet Racking on December 19th, 2011 by Website AdministratorWhen trying to decide on what type of Pallet Racking to choose for your business the variety of systems can seem bewildering so below I have made a basic guide which covers the more common types of Pallet Racking.
ADJUSTABLE PALLET RACKING (APR)
This is the most common of Pallet Racking Installations, and as such it is very flexible and adjustable to suit a wide range of pallet types and sizes.
NARROW AISLE PALLET RACKING
This type of Pallet Racking is often used where people require very high storage density, but something to bear in mind is that this system also requires special Narrow Aisle Fork Lift Trucks or a Bendi/Flexi truck due to the narrow aisles.
WIDE AISLE PALLET RACKING
ThisĀ configuration of pallet racking is similar to the above, but as the name suggests it is installed with wide aisles. This means that a conventional Counterbalance Forklift Truck can be used.
DRIVE IN / DRIVE THROUGH/PUSH BACK PALLET RACKING
This type of Pallet Racking offers very high storage density but is generally more suited to warehouses that stock a lot of the same product. This is because pallets are stored several deep on a first in/last out approach.
CANTILEVER RACKING
This is the type of Racking that you generally see at builder’s merchants, and is suited to storing Timber and Steel.
It is important that you choose the right type or the right combinations of Pallet Racking for your business, so please feel free to ask any of our team to discuss this in more detail with you.
