Lifting Devices

In order to access the mezzanine floor, some sort of lifting device will need to be installed. Examples include a conveyor, goods lift or forklift truck. For more information see product movement page.

Pallet Gates

In the case of a forklift truck being used, a pallet gate will ensure guarding between the worker and the platform edge. This prevents the operative from falling from the mezzanine floor when loading or unloading pallets. It also prevents goods from being dropped and injuring a person below.

Bridges, Walkways and Ladders

Bridges, walkways and cat ladders can be added to your mezzanine floor to improve access or provide additional functionality. Bridges are popular for navigating conveyor systems, whilst walkways connect two mezzanine floors within a single building

Fire Protection

Up to one-hour fire protection is a typical requirement of a mezzanine floor. Cladding can to added to the steelwork to provide fire protection and will also improve the appearance of the structure.
