Wolf Omega Turns to Trent Design for Racking Solution

Trent Design is leading the way in providing storage and interior solutions, with a successful racking installation at Wolf Omega. The distributor of security products turned to Trent Design when it required a pallet racking system for its main warehouse in Nottingham.

Wolf Omega boasts customers such as Aldi and mail order company, ScrewFix Direct. Up to 200 containers a day arrive at the warehouse, which is situated on a disused RAF base. Here the products are unloaded on to pallets and put away until required. With such a busy operation, space utilisation was critical.

David Camm, Managing Director of Trent Design, encouraged Wolf Omega to invest in a narrow aisle racking system, with the innovation of having three pallets per bay compared with the more usual two. "As Trent Design was the only company to suggest a three pallet per bay alternative, we knew we were on to a winner," commented Gordon Wood, Senior Partner at Wolf Omega.

A total of 4872 pallets are now stored throughout the whole system. These are accessed by new narrow aisle Flexi trucks, which have replaced the company's wide aisle trucks.

The racking fitted our specifications exactly and has dramatically increased efficiencies in our warehouse."
